Job Description

• Manage new application and renewal of Halal Certification for all outlets across Malaysia.
• Maintain and improve Halal practice in the company.
• Communicate with Procurement Department to ensure all products/ingredients have valid Halal certification and comply with JAKIM’s label requirement.
• Arrange and conduct related Halal training.
• Identify non-conformance and provide recommendations for improvements.
• Manage all documentation related to Halal and monitor the latest development in Halal industries.
• Interact with a wide variety of personnel and determine the language/literacy barriers issue when interfering with the Halal audit process.
• Recognize problems of the outlet and provide fair judgment to assess, coach, and communicate Halal audit results to outlet PIC on duty accordingly.
• Prepare weekly/monthly reports for the operation team to follow up with corrective action.
• Ensure documents are prepared correctly with full integrity and filed accordingly.
• Schedule, monitor and perform proper time management to ensure consistent follow up within specific time intervals based on an outlet performance.
• Build a good relationship with JAKIM/ JAIN.
• Communicate with JAKIM/ JAIN regarding issues related to Halal matters/ compliance.
• Prepare any relevant correspondence as necessary.
• Perform any other special project/ task assigned by superior/ management.

Job Requirements

• Must possess at least a Degree in Food Science & Technology or any related disciplines.
• Preferably 1- 2 years working experience in related field.
• Malaysian citizen with Islamic education background or has a Certificate of Halal Executive/ Professional.
• Good knowledge and skills in Halal matters.
• Good behavior and act in a manner that does not compromise his/ her reputation nor impede during the audit process.
• Excellent presentation, communication, problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills with outstanding organizational and time-management skills.
• Computer literate with good command of both written and spoken English and Malay (Proficient in any other languages will be an added advantage).
• Confident, proactive, able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Possess own transport and willing to travel
