Retail Store Manager  

Position Responsiblities:

Role Overview The Store Manager will lead the daily operations of ZUS Mart, driving lifestyle merchandise sales while maintaining premium retail standards. Unlike standard F&B management, this role requires a strong focus on proactive sales leadership, tight inventory control (GRN and stock allocations), and strict adherence to Visual Merchandising (VM) guidelines to maximize retail footprint profitability.

Key Responsibilities:

Sales & Commercial Leadership:

  • Drive the store to achieve and exceed monthly merchandise sales targets.
  • Coach and train Retail Specialists on active upselling techniques, product knowledge, and handling complex promotional mechanics (e.g., bundle deals, VIP tiers).
Inventory & Backend Operations:
  • Oversee all inventory movements, ensuring 100% accuracy in Goods Receive Notes (GRN) and bulk stock allocations.
  • Manage Return to Vendor (RTV) protocols for defective goods and execute regular stock takes to minimize shrinkage.
  • Ensure the POS system is utilized correctly for retail transactions and backend promotional setups.
Visual Merchandising (VM) & Store Experience:
  • Execute and maintain headquarters' VM guidelines, ensuring product displays look premium, uniform, and are optimized for customer flow.
  • Manage physical store audits to identify layout gaps and ensure promotional teasers and point-of-sale materials are updated accurately.
Team Management & HR:
  • Manage staff rosters to ensure optimal floor coverage during peak retail hours.
  • Track individual staff performance against the tiered commission structure, identifying low performers for additional coaching to ensure team stability and retention.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 3–5 years of retail/store management experience, preferably in lifestyle or merchandise retail

  • Strong sales-driven mindset with experience achieving monthly sales targets

  • Proven experience in team leadership, coaching, and staff performance management

  • Strong knowledge of inventory management, GRN, stock allocation, stock takes, and RTV

  • Familiar with POS systems and retail promotional mechanics

  • Experience in Visual Merchandising (VM) and maintaining premium store standards

  • Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to drive upselling and maximise store profitability

  • Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage fast-paced store operations independently
