Intern, Food Development  

Position Responsibilities

  • Support the product development team in ideation, testing, and refinement of new food and beverage items
  • Assist in kitchen trials and recipe development, including preparation, portioning, and documentation of results
  • Conduct benchmarking and market research on food trends, competitors, and new product innovations
  • Help in sourcing ingredients and liaising with suppliers for samples and product testing
  • Maintain accurate records of recipes, costing, and product specifications
  • Participate in sensory evaluations and provide feedback on taste, texture, and presentation
  • Assist in costing exercises and ensure recipes align with target food cost and margin requirements
  • Support in standardizing recipes and SOPs for operational rollout
  • Work cross-functionally with operations, marketing, and supply chain teams to support product launches
  • Ensure kitchen hygiene, food safety, and proper handling practices are followed during all trials
  • Provide general support for ad-hoc projects, product launches, and testing sessions

Qualification and Experience

  • Currently a student in food science, nutrition or culinary school
  • Someone who is proactive, flexible, resourceful , problem solver and creative
