Position Responsibilities
Database Operations & Administration
Manage and maintain production databases across multiple regions
Perform installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades of database systems
Monitor database health, performance, and availability
Manage database backups and recovery procedure
High Availability & Disaster Recovery
Design and maintain high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions
Implement replication strategies across regions
Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime
Regularly test backup restoration and DR failover procedures
Monitor database performance and resolve bottlenecks
Optimize queries, indexes, and database configurations
Work with developers to improve database schema design and query efffficiency
Implement caching or scaling strategies when necessary
Cloud Database Management
Manage databases deployed on cloud infrastructure
Support cloud database services such as: Amazon RDS / Aurora, Self-hosted databases on cloud infrastructure
Optimize cloud database usage for perfoformance and cost efffficiency
Implement database access control policies
Manage encryption, credentials, and database security practices
Ensure compliance with data protection and governance policies
Perform security audits and vulnerability assessments
Implement monitoring tools for proactive issue detection
Build automation scripts for routine database operations
Improve operational efficiency through Infrastructure as Code and automation
Cross-Regional Coordination
Support regional teams with database deployment and operations
Ensure consistent database standards across regions
Collaborate with SRE, DevOps, and data engineering teams
