Posiiton Responsibilities

Hiring Objective: As our office continues to expand, we anticipate an increase in minor maintenance issues that will need to be addressed promptly. To ensure our offices remain well-maintained and operational, I would like to request the opening of a vacancy for a handyman. This role will be responsible for addressing maintenance needs across all our office locations.

Primary Job Responsibilities:
  • Fix electrical issues (lights, switches, breakers).
  • Repair plumbing problems (leaky faucets, clogged drains, toilets).
  • Perform basic HVAC maintenance (change filters, check thermostats).
  • Patch drywall, paint walls, and repair doors/windows.
  • Assemble furniture and handle small renovation tasks.
Secondary Job Responsibilities:
  • Maintain floors (carpet, tile) and assist with minor structural repairs.
  • Check exterior areas (walkways, entrances) and coordinate with landscapers.
  • Respond to urgent facility issues (floods, power outages).
  • Prepare a monthly report for each office summarizing work completed and status.
  • Document all defects that have been fixed and track the progress of ongoing repairs for each office building.
  • Plan and schedule routine rounding checkups at each office location.
  • Communicate schedules and updates clearly with team members and management.

Qualification and Experience:

  • Education: High school diploma or GED is preferred but not required.
  • Experience: Minimum 3 years in maintenance, construction, or a handyman role.
  • License: Valid driver's license required. Trade certifications are a plus.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely.
  • Skilled in painting, drywall, and general carpentry.
  • Knows when a problem needs a specialist and reports it correctly.
  • Basic computer or mobile app skills for documenting defects and creating simple reports.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to use power tools and hand tools safely.
