Regional Manager, Matcha  

PURPOSE / OBJECTIVE (OF THIS POSITION):

The Head of Squad is a leadership role focused on driving the strategy, innovation, and execution of products. You will lead a cross-functional squad that includes product, marketing, supply chain and other key team members to create and refine products that delight customers, drive brand loyalty, and contribute to business growth.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:


1. Leadership & Team Management:

  • Lead a multidisciplinary squad to drive product development from conceptualization to launch.
  • Cultivate a collaborative and high-performance team culture, ensuring alignment between all functions (e.g., Production, Marketing, Supply Chain, QA & Halal Management, Operations).
  • Provide mentorship and development opportunities for team members, fostering innovation and personal growth.


2. Product Strategy & Vision:

  • Define and communicate the strategic vision for the particular product category in alignment with the company's overall goals and market trends.
  • Analyze market opportunities, consumer preferences, and competitor products to steer product development efforts.
  • Oversee the development of a clear product roadmap, balancing short-term goals and long-term brand vision.


3. Product Development & Innovation:

  • Oversee the end-to-end lifecycle of products, from ideation, prototyping, and testing to commercialization and scaling.
  • Lead innovation initiatives to create new concepts and improve existing offerings, ensuring the products meet consumer needs and quality standards.
  • Ensure the integration of sustainability and ethical sourcing practices in the product development process.


4.Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work closely with Marketing, Operations, and other relevant departments to ensure effective product positioning and successful go-to-market strategies.
  • Collaborate with Supply Chain, QA & Halal and Operations teams to ensure product quality and consistency.
  • Ensure all teams are aligned on product timelines, requirements, and key milestones.


5. Data-Driven Decision Making:

  • Utilize consumer insights, sales data, and market research to guide product decisions and refine marketing strategies.
  • Regularly track product performance metrics, consumer feedback, and competitive analysis to drive continuous product improvement.


6. Project Management:

  • Oversee project timelines, deliverables, and resources, ensuring products are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Identify and address potential risks and roadblocks in the product development process.


7. Brand & Customer Focus:

  • Ensure the squad’s work consistently supports the brand’s identity and positioning in the coffee drink market.
  • Lead the effort to enhance the customer experience with new and existing products, ensuring that the squad's products align with customer expectations and enhance brand loyalty.

JOB COMPETENCIES / REQUIREMENTS:


1. Experience:

  • 7+ years of experience in product management, innovation, or R&D, preferably in the food and beverage, coffee, or consumer goods industry.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams and managing product development in a fast-paced environment.


2. Leadership:

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire, coach, and develop team members.
  • Demonstrated ability to align teams around shared goals and drive results.


3. Product & Market Knowledge:

  • Deep understanding of coffee drink products, including trends, consumer preferences, and production processes.
  • Strong knowledge of market research, consumer insights, and the food and beverage industry.

4. Strategic & Analytical Thinking:

  • Ability to think strategically and translate market insights into actionable plans.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decisions and measure product success.


5. Communication:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to present ideas, strategies, and results to senior leadership and stakeholders.


6. Project Management & Agile Practices:

  • Proficient in project management techniques and tools (e.g., Lark), with an understanding of agile methodologies.


7. Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in the Coffee or Beverage Industry: Knowledge of coffee brewing, trends, and production techniques is highly preferred.
  • Educational Background: A degree in Food Science, Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field is preferred.
