Intern, Halal Management  

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in maintaining, updating, and organizing Halal documentation, records, and filing systems to ensure accuracy and accessibility.
  • Support the maintenance and updating of records within the MyeHALAL system and other internal Halal databases.
  • Assist in the preparation and submission of new, renewal, and amendment applications for Halal certification of ZUS Coffee outlets.
  • Support the implementation and monitoring of the Halal Assurance System (HAS) and compliance with Company Halal policies and procedures.
  • Review Halal certificates, supplier declarations, and supporting documentation to verify validity and compliance with certification requirements.
  • Assist in the planning, preparation, and coordination of internal and external Halal audits, including document compilation and follow-up of corrective actions.
  • Prepare reports, presentations, meeting minutes, and other administrative documentation related to Halal managementactivities.
  • Support the coordination and delivery of Halal awareness and training programs, including preparation of training materials, maintenance of attendance records, and updating of training databases.
  • Assist in Halal-related projects, continuous improvement initiatives, and other duties assigned by the immediate superior.

Requirements:

  • Pursuing a Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Halal Management, Islamic Studies, or other related fields.
  • Minimum internship duration of 4 – 6 months (preferred).
  • Basic understanding of Halal principles, Halal Assurance System (HAS), and Halal certification requirements is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and regulatory compliance will be an added advantage.
  • Good computer literacy and ability to use digital systems, databases, and documentation tools.
  • Able to perform data entry, record keeping, and basic report preparation accurately.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills in English and Malay; additional language skills (e.g., Chinese) are an advantage.
  • Strong attention to detail and good organizational skills.
